As of Wednesday, March 22, the City of Mountain View has 200 Pacific Gas and Electric customers without power due to the recent storm. Many of those customers are estimated to have power restored Thursday evening.

Calls for service included fires, fallen trees, four instances of wires down, two elevator rescues, traffic collisions and smoke alarms. Twenty-nine locations throughout the City reported trees or branches down yesterday before 3 p.m.

Stevens Creek and Permanente Creek trails have been closed this morning due to standing water and debris. Parks staff hopes to open the trails tomorrow morning after they are able to clean them and safe for the public. The impending high tide may delay the opening of the trails.

The City has attempted to contact PG&E for an update on the status of the restoration of electrical power to the customers who continue to be out of service. At this time, we have not been able to acquire any additional information from PG&E. The City will continue to attempt to get an update on the restoration of electrical service and pass that information along to the community when it becomes available.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, including Santa Clara County, in effect for Wednesday, March 22, from 6:38 a.m. until 1 p.m. this afternoon. Watch for minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Despite the rain decreasing. Small stream flooding is likely ongoing and may result in minor flooding. This week’s weather will be monitored by City officials and resources deployed accordingly to fallen trees, flooding, mudslides, power outages, and other storm-related damage.
