Consistent with State law (AB 2234) effective January 1, 2024, all building permits for residential and nonresidential additions, remodels, and new construction will be subject to a two-part City review.

First is completeness review to confirm the permit application submitted includes all required materials, based on the submittal checklists provided below. City staff will notify the applicant of any missing or incomplete information after 3 weeks.

Then, once the missing or incomplete information is resubmitted and verified to be complete, City staff will conduct code compliance review, verifying the permit complies with City and State codes and requirements.  City staff will notify the applicant of any corrections or revisions necessary to meet requirements following standard permit review times (which vary based on permit scope between 4 to 6 weeks).

Note: All other permits are not impacted by this new law and remain with their existing review timelines including Fast track permits, one-stop permits, ADUs, solar permits, EV charger permits, and same-day permits.

ePermitsMV offers one location to submit building permits with 24/7 access to the status of the permit, the timeline of transactions on the permit (e.g., submittal dates, dates of City comments), and which City staff are assigned to review.

Please note: If you have an existing building permit application that is currently in plan check with the City or an approved permit that requires revisions, you will need to apply for a new application in ePermitsMV. Additionally, Same-Day Permits require a second login/account to be created in the same-day permit system, which can be the same login you use for ePermitsMV.
