Shoreline at Mountain View Gets the Holiday Treatment Through the “12 Days of Shoreline”

Learn all about Mountain View’s 750-acre wildlife and recreation area over a 12-day period

Post Date:12/21/2022

Mountain View, Calif. — Starting Wednesday, Dec. 21 through New Year’s Day, the City of Mountain View is celebrating “12 Days of Shoreline” – a public outreach campaign highlighting the history behind and the many opportunities for fun at the 750-acre wildlife and recreation area known as Shoreline at Mountain View.

The “12 Days of Shoreline” will provide a daily update about Mountain View’s not-so-hidden treasure on the City’s Facebook (Facebook.com/MountainViewGov) and Instagram (Instagram.com/MountainViewGov) feeds. The City’s outreach campaign is geared to help families, locals and individuals who live, work or play in Mountain View to learn more about this wildlife and recreation area and encourage them to experience it for themselves in-person and online.

Located by the San Francisco Bay in north Mountain View, Shoreline has a gorgeous natural setting with views of the mountains to the west and east across the bay. There’s plenty of history at the Rengstorff House, educational opportunities on the importance of a wildlife refuge, and leisure activities like golfing, sailing, hiking, biking and flying a kite. Coming up in 2023, Shoreline at Mountain View will celebrate its 40th anniversary after first opening to the public in 1983.

More information, including a map of Shoreline, is available at MountainView.gov/Shoreline.
