Mountain View, Calif. The City of Mountain View is excited to announce that the annual Earth Day Celebration will return on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave. This year’s theme is “Building Our Brighter Future” as the event will showcase how our community is taking action to help our environment and inviting others to participate.

The celebration will include:

  • Electric Vehicle Ride and Drives: Test-drive or ride-along in an electric vehicle.
  • Plant-Based Food: Taste and learn about plant-based foods. A free lunch will be available for the first 250 attendees.
  • Sustainability Talks: Attend engaging and informative presentations.
  • Art and Family Fun: Play an interactive outdoor activity.
  • Community Booths and Activities: Numerous organizations will offer information, activities and fun giveaways.

Due to high demand, the ever-popular “EV Ride & Drive” is back to give attendees the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. Experts will be on hand to answer questions on everything from available EV models and battery range, to charging processes and financial incentives. The event provides a brand-neutral, no-pressure environment to learn about the future of transportation. (A valid driver’s license is required to drive a vehicle.)

Register for a free lunch, raffle and drawings, and the EV Ride & Drive at https://www.evevent.org/mv-earthday.

Through the Sustainability Program, the City of Mountain View envisions "a thriving community where we work together to leave the world better than we found it.” Toward this goal, the City is pursuing decarbonization of our buildings and transportation as we create a resilient community that continues to thrive for generations.
