40th Anniversary of Shoreline at Mountain View Speaker's Series

Shoreline at Mountain View is pleased to announce its 2023 speaker’s series on sustainability, a unique roster of educational events designed to highlight the area’s: landfill legacy; birds/wildlife, climate adaptations; and its historic past which informs its vision for the future. The events are FREE and recommended for ages 9+.

Background: Shoreline at Mountain View was once home to a hog farm, landfill and wrecking yard. In 1968, City leaders had the foresight to purchase the property, and the year after State law created the Shoreline Regional Park Community to take on the responsibility for maintenance of the regional landfill, development of a regional park, and support of North Bayshore’s development into a center of economic opportunity and quality housing.

This year, Shoreline celebrates its 40th anniversary as a regional park and recreation area.
