Background: Shoreline at Mountain View was once home to a hog farm, landfill and wrecking yard. In 1968, City leaders had the foresight to purchase the property, and the year after State law created the Shoreline Regional Park Community to take on the responsibility for maintenance of the regional landfill, development of a regional park, and support of North Bayshore’s development into a center of economic opportunity and quality housing.
This year, Shoreline celebrates its 40th anniversary as a regional park and recreation area.
