Man arrested in connection with narcotics sales

Post Date:06/08/2023 2:43 p.m.

A Mountain View man has been arrested in connection with narcotics sales that also endangered a young child.

Starting last week, Crime Suppression Unit detectives began an investigation after learning of possible drug sales at a home on the 200 block of Velarde Street. On June 7, Crime Suppression detectives executed a search warrant at the home and detained three individuals, one of whom was identified as 33-year-old Robert Melenudo.

During a search of the home, detectives located suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, among other drugs, as well as signs that the drugs were being sold. A child of one of the detainees was also living in the home and was in close proximity to the narcotics.

The child was safely placed into the custody of family members and Melenudo was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on numerous narcotics sales/transportation charges and child endangerment.

A car associated to the home was also towed for expired registration. One of the detained individuals was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant out of a neighboring agency. The third individual who was detained was released and not arrested or cited.
