Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the early morning vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
Mountain View, Calif. -- Officers are investigating a fatal traffic collision in the Walmart parking lot that occurred early Monday morning.
Around 6 am on Dec. 4, Mountain View dispatchers received calls of a vehicle versus pedestrian in the parking lot on the 500 block of Showers Drive. Responding officers learned that a woman in her 60s was in the middle of the lot when an employee driving into work drove over her. The parking lot at the time was dark and densely covered in fog.
The woman was
taken to an area hospital where she later died. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision. The driver has remained on scene and is cooperating with our investigators.
Our team remains on scene processing the collision site and we expect that area of the parking lot to reopen shortly. More information will be released as it becomes available.
