A month-long investigation resulted in the discovery of cash, narcotics and ammunition.

Mountain View, Calif. -- A month-long investigation by Crime Suppression Unit detectives resulted in the arrest of several Mountain View residents on suspicion of drug possession.

In November 2023, Mountain View detectives began an investigation after they learned that residents on Ednamary Way were possibly in possession of several different types of narcotics as well as guns.

On Dec. 14, a search warrant was executed at the home, located on the 1800 block of Ednamary Way. Several members from various units in our department assisted in the operation, including our SWAT team, our Crisis Negotiations Team, our Drone Team, our Gang Suppression team, as well as detectives as our traffic team.

During the search warrant, teams found several thousand dollars in cash, about 100 rounds of ammunition, as well as pills and cannabis.
Two adults – 21-year-old Joseph Ramirez and 22-year-old Sonia Rivera -- were subsequently arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances for sale and for violation of a temporary restraining order. Rivera was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest.

There is additional follow-up work being done in this case, and when more information is available to share we will do so.
