Chinese Leadership Academy Begins in Spring

Registration for the 2024 Academy is now underway for Chinese residents

Mountain View, Calif. — The City of Mountain View is hosting its second Chinese Language Civic Leadership Academy beginning in April. The 2024 Academy registration for the free, eight-week long program is now open through Monday, April 1 for Chinese Mountain View residents to apply. The Academy is designed to improve participants’ understanding of local government and City services.

Here are details about the 2024 Chinese Language Civic Leadership Academy:

  • Meets every week on Wednesdays, April 17 – June 5 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Meetings held in-person.
  • Program held in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
  • Registration is open through Monday, April 1. · View application form (available in Chinese and English).

Each session is led by staff from City departments and includes information on each department’s core service function, major activities, programs and project overviews. The program also features interactive exercises and group discussions.

Through the program, participants are encouraged to increase their civic engagement, leadership and volunteerism in the community. The Academy also prepares individuals to serve on City Council advisory bodies and committees.
