Arrests Made in Connection to Mountain View Shooting

After an in-depth investigation, the Mountain View Police Department has apprehended four suspects linked to a recent robbery and shooting incident in Mountain View.

On Dec. 25, 2023, a robbery occurred at the 7-11 on 1905 Latham St., during which a necklace was stolen. Later the same day, a shooting occurred in the 900 Block of Clark Avenue, tragically resulting in a six-year-old child being injured.

Following thorough investigative work by Mountain View Police Department detectives, a Santa Clara County judge issued search warrants for several locations and arrest warrants for several subjects connected to these crimes.

On Wednesday, Jan. 10, at approximately 8 a.m., the Mountain View Police Department, along with the assistance of several area SWAT teams, executed these search and arrest warrants at the following addresses: 2700 Block of Del Medio Court, 1900 Block of Latham Street, 200 Block of Calderon Avenue, and 1600 Block of Ottawa Court in Sunnyvale. The operation was successful with no significant incidents.

The arrests made in connection with this investigation are as follows:

  • Tristen Villanueva, an 18-year-old Mountain View resident, charged with Robbery, Assault Likely to Cause Great Bodily Harm, Conspiracy, and Gang Enhancement.
  • Gilbert Murillo, a 20-year-old Mountain View resident, charged with Conspiracy and Gang Enhancement.
  • Two male juveniles from Mountain View, charged with Conspiracy and Gang Enhancement. One of these juveniles faces additional charges for a probation violation.

This operation was the result of a collaboration of multiple agencies, including the Campbell Police Department, Los Altos Police Department, Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SCCSET), Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, and the Mountain View Fire Department.
