City of Mountain View Power Outages and Weather Resources Update

As of Sunday evening, Feb. 4, the City of Mountain View has approximately 6,377 Pacific Gas and Electric customers without electricity service.

For general questions about PG&E service, call their customer service center at 1-800-743-5000. Visit https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outagecenter/ to report, track, and monitor PG&E electric outages.

Calls for service on Sunday, Feb. 4, included nine calls for wires down, nine medical emergencies, seven traffic collisions, two fire alarms, and one call for a stuck elevator.

The City of Mountain View has resources available to assist residents and visitors in this time of need. Those without power seeking a place to charge their electronics and access to Wi-Fi can visit the following City facilities:

  • Mountain View Public Library (585 Franklin St.) – will be open to the public Monday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (All ages)
  • Mountain View Community Center (201 S. Rengstorff Ave.) – will be open to the public Monday, Feb. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. (All ages)
  • Mountain View Senior Center (266 Escuela Ave.) – will be open to the public Monday, Feb. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Those 55 and older)
  • The Police Services Fire Administration Building lobby at 1000 Villa St. will be open to the public Monday, Feb. 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you or someone you know needs assistance with a fallen tree, contact the City’s Forestry Division at 650-903-6273. The Forestry Division office is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please leave a message or call the City’s non-emergency number at 650-903-6344.

If you or someone you know needs additional assistance as a result of prolonged loss of power, contact the City’s Emergency Operations Center at 650-903-6825. The EOC number is staffed Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please leave a message if your call is not answered or if calling outside business hours. Needs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and resources will be provided as they are available.
