Fallen Tree in the 1000 Block of Solana Drive

Post Date:01/14/2023

On Saturday, Jan. 14 at 10:22 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received reporting a tree fell onto the roof of their neighbor’s single-family residence in the 1000 block of Solana Drive.

Fire units were dispatched at 10:22 a.m. and arrived on the scene at 10:29 a.m. Units arrived to find a large Dutch Elm tree fell onto a single-family one-story house. The tree appeared uprooted from the backyard of their next-door neighbor.

Firefighters assessed the situation and found minor damage to the roof of the property and a storage shed in the backyard. Nobody was injured from the tree falling, and the utilities remained on in the home. The roof did not appear to be leaking when fire crews left the scene. The occupants elected to stay in their home.

The cause was determined to be weather related. The estimated damage to the contents and structure is $20,000. The home was turned over to the property owners to coordinate the tree removal and restoration.
