The National Weather Service has forecast warm weather returning to the San Francisco Bay Area this week, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday being the warmest days. Temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-90s resulting in an increased risk for those sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

Take care of yourself and your families by adhering to the following preparedness actions:

• Drink plenty of fluids.
• Stay in air-conditioned areas or go to an air-conditioned building if you do not have A/C.
• Limit outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day.
• Do not leave kids or pets in vehicles.
• Watch for hot pavement when walking dogs.
• Check on relatives and neighbors.

In anticipation of the heat, the City of Mountain View will open the following facilities to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 21, 22 and 23, as air-conditioned cooling centers to find shelter from the heat:

• Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Robert K. Schatz Police Services Fire Administration Building lobby, 1000 Villa St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Mountain View Public Library at 585 Franklin Street will be open to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. as an air-conditioned cooling center.
