Post Date:12/27/2023 1:47 p.m.

Mountain View detectives are looking to identify suspects after a child was injured.

Mountain View, Calif. -- A six-year-old boy was shot and injured on Christmas night, and Mountain View detectives are actively looking to identify and locate the suspect or suspects.

Around 8:30 pm on December 25, Mountain View dispatchers received calls that a child had been shot on the 900 block of Clark Avenue. Officers immediately responded to the home and found the child suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

An adult man was also injured. He suffered a non-life threatening wound to his lower body during the incident.

Our initial investigation revealed that at least one person allegedly shot into the home before running away from the area. Despite an extensive search of the area, no suspect or suspects were located.

As of December 27, the suspects remain unidentified. Our detectives are actively working this case and as more information becomes available, we will share it with our community. At this time, the motive for the shooting is unclear.

Anyone with any information on this incident, or on the identity of the shooter or shooters, can contact Detective Josh Gould at josh.gould@mountainview.gov. If you are a Spanish speaker, we have Detective Angelica Espitia available to speak with you at angelica.espitia@mountainview.gov.
