The woman used her car to allegedly hit a man on purpose twice late Jan. 2.

Mountain View, Calif. -- A 24-year-old Dublin woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after she allegedly purposefully ran over a man late Tuesday night.

On Jan. 2 around 10:30 pm, Mountain View dispatchers received reports of a two-car collision at San Antonio Road and Central Expressway. Officers immediately responded to the scene and found a 24-year-old East Palo Alto man injured. During the course of their investigation, officers learned that a woman later identified as Alexis McBride had allegedly hit the man purposefully with her car as both were driving on the road. The collision caused the man to crash, but not McBride.

When the man got out of the car to inspect the damage, McBride allegedly accelerated toward him, hitting both him and his vehicle once again. Our officers also learned that the man and McBride had previously been in a relationship.

McBride then drove away, but returned a short time later while patrol officers were still investigating the crash site. Our officers conducted a vehicle stop and detained her. She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, hit and run and corporal injury to a spouse or co-inhabitant. She was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A condition on his status was not available.
