Captain Saul Jaeger Announces Retirement from MVPD

Mountain View Police Captain Saul Jaeger has announced his retirement after a 22-year career with the Mountain View Police Department. Captain Jaeger has served as police captain for the last five years. His official retirement date is set for July 25, 2024.

During his time with the Mountain View Police Department, Captain Jaeger has held various investigative, task force, hostage negotiation and leadership roles, serving in every division of the organization. He has served on the California Police Chief’s Association Wellness and Resiliency Committee and Traffic Safety Committee. He is also a recognized speaker and writer on autonomous vehicle integration and safety, officer wellness, community engagement, and leadership. Captain Jaeger is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (#282) and Stanford Graduate School of Business LEAD for Corporate Innovation and holds a master’s degree in emergency services management from California State University, Long Beach, and a doctorate in psychology from Touro University.

“I am incredibly grateful to the dedicated women and men of this department for all those who served before me and for all those who will serve after. I have truly loved being a police officer,” said Captain Jaeger. “Every day, I am in awe of the support of our amazing community and so thankful to have spent my career working for a city that cares so deeply for its employees.”

As Captain Jaeger looks forward to the next chapter of his life, he plans to spend more time with his family and pursue personal interests. The Mountain View Police Department expresses its gratitude to Captain Jaeger for his exemplary service and extends best wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
