Mountain View's greatest asset is its people. The resident population of Mountain View is approximately 83,601 and population during the day grows to more than 128,600. More than half the population is between 20 and 49 years old, while nearly 21% is in the 30-to-39-year age bracket. The median age is 35.7 years old.

According to the 2021 U.S. Census American Community Survey 1-year estimates, nearly 50 % of the population (48.5%) speak a language other than English at home and 42.3% of Mountain View residents are foreign born with 57% of them having been born in Asia. Also, 94.5% of residents have graduated high school with 74.4% having a Bachelor's degree or higher.
