AARP Driving Safety Course

Initial and Refresher Driver Safety Courses are offered periodically throughout the year at the Mountain View Senior Center. Cost: $20 for AARP members; $25 for non-AARP members. Please pay on first day of course by check or cash only. Check is preferred. Credit cards are not accepted. 

Upcoming Initial Course: March 19 and March 26 from 4 - 8 p.m. 

Upcoming Renewal Course: May 14 from 4 - 8 p.m. 

AARP Tax Assistance

Mountain View Senior Center will again host AARP TaxAide during tax season to help the community file their taxes before the April 15 deadline. Tax Aide-certified volunteers provide free of charge assistance and e-filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially for those over 60 years of age. Wednesday and Thursday morning in-person appointments start on Wednesday, February 7 through April 11 at The View Teen Center. Tax appointments are available on Wednesday and Thursday mornings through April 14.

Appointments can be made by calling the Senior Center front desk at 650-903-6330. List of documents required for your tax appointment.

Apple Assistance 

Are you struggling to understand your iPad or iPhone? 30 minute appointments are available with a volunteer on each Wednesday of the month between 8:45 - 10:45 a.m. to answer your questions.

Blood Pressure

Free blood pressure screenings from a volunteer registered nurse on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 12:30 - 1 p.m. in the Dance & Movement Room. No prior registration required. 

Bookmobile

Mountain View Public Library will be visiting on wheels every other Wednesday starting on Jan. 24 from 10:45 - 11:15 a.m. in the Meeting Room. Reserve your items online for pickup at the Senior Center! 

Exercise Orientation

Interested in working out in the Exercise Room at the Senior Center? If yes, please sign-up for an orientation on the 1st Tuesday of the month of or Friday at 10 a.m. 

Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP)

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) appointments are available at the Senior Center the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Volunteer counselor can help you understand your specific rights and health care options.

Newcomer's Tour 

A tour welcoming you to the Senior Center is scheduled the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Lobby. Staff will review classes, upcoming events, social services, and more.

Puzzle Swap

Variety is the spice of life! Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Lobby between 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Bring a puzzle(s) and swap with ours at no charge. No prior registration needed. 

Second Harvest

Free Grocery pick-up is the first through fourth Tuesday of each month, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Pre-registration is necessary. Please see the Front Desk for more information or visit the Free Grocery program on days/times of operation. Sponsored by the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Senior Adult Legal Assistance (SALA)

SALA appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident.
