Explore exciting teen volunteer opportunities with the City of Mountain View! Make a positive impact on your community while gaining valuable skills.

All teen volunteer opportunities are free of cost to participants. Age limits vary depending on the program. See below for descriptions of each program and how you can apply.


THE VIEW TEEN CENTER

Whether it's assisting with workshops, contributing to creative projects, or simply being a positive presence, The View Teen Center offers a volunteer platform for teens to thrive, learn, and create lasting impacts.

Teen Volunteer Project: Hospital Kits

Calling all Teens! Help a child patient cope in the hospital during a difficult time! Volunteer your time to make cards, sew snuggle hearts, and pack activity kits. Activity Kits will go to pediatric patients at local hospitals. This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours. Teen volunteers have packed and donated more than 450 kits since 2021!

TEEN VOLUNTEER SUMMER PROGRAM

Elevate your summer with the Teen Volunteer Summer Program, supporting the Recreation Division's Summer Camp, Swim Lesson, and Deer Hollow Farm programs. Dive into a dynamic and enjoyable volunteer experience, blending advanced training with meaningful service opportunities.

The Teen Volunteer Summer Program is open to ages 14-17. Please email TheViewTeenCenter@mountainview.gov with any questions. 

2024 Applications open online! Applications are due Friday, Apr. 26, 2024.

Junior Leaders

APPLY HERE!

 Junior Leaders will join the City of Mountain View summer camps to engage with youth, lead activities and games, and shadow staff. Volunteer shifts are 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday. 

Junior Leaders Program Requirements:

  • 14-17 years old by June 8

  • Attend training Saturday, Jun. 8, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The View Teen Center

  • Interest in volunteering with youth

  •  Available for at least 1 week of service June 10-August 9

Junior Lifeguards

APPLY HERE!

 Junior Lifeguards will assist Aquatics staff in swim lessons by making the pool a safe, fun and friendly atmosphere. Volunteer shift times vary and are available Monday-Saturday.

Junior Lifeguards Program Requirements:

  • 14-17 years old by June 8

  • Attend training Saturday, Jun. 8, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The View Teen Center and an in-pool training on Wednesday, June 12, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Rengstorff Pool Aquatics Center

  • Interest in aquatics and volunteering with youth

  • Available for at least 2 weeks of service June 17-August 1

Deer Hollow Farm Interns

APPLY HERE!

Deer Hollow Farm Interns will assist staff during Deer Hollow Farm Wilderness Camps with a variety of outdoor and farm activities. Volunteer shifts are 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Deer Hollow Farm Interns Program Requirements:

  • 14-17 years old by June 6

  • Attend an overnight training Jun. 6 at 2 p.m. to Jun. 7 at 12 p.m.

  • Interest in the outdoors and volunteering with youth

  • Available for at least 3 weeks of service June 10-July 26
