Memberships 

The View Teen Center is free to all Mountain View and Los Altos 6th-12th grade students. Click below or visit The View to fill out a membership form. A Teen Center I.D. card will be issued on the teen's first visit.

Membership forms are processed Monday-Friday. You will receive a welcome email once we have created your membership. 


Handbook and Policies

Please review our facility and program rules, regulations, and code of conduct.  The View Teen Center has a zero-tolerance bullying, discrimination and violence policy. For further information or questions about the contents of this manual, please see a staff member or email us.

The View Teen Center is LGBTQIA+-friendly and a safe space. We are dedicated to providing fun and welcoming spaces and programs for all teens. Some of our inclusive amenities and programs include: gender neutral restrooms, an annual Pride Party, LGBTQIA+ books in our mini-library, and pronouns on our membership form. Do you have ideas on how the center can be more inclusive? Facility Amenities

  • A game room with a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, basketball hotshot, air hockey table, and old-school arcade games. 
  • A video game area with two televisions and an Oculus Quest 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS5, PS2, and Wii U. 
  • A Makerspace with sewing machines, a Circuit, and a variety of arts and crafts supplies.  
  • A large kitchen to offer daily snacks, a snack bar, and cooking classes.  
  • A lounge with comfortable seating, a large screen TV, DVDs, cable TV and streaming services, and board games. 
  • A study room with twelve computers, a mini library, and school supplies.  
  • An outdoor patio with a basketball hoop, garden, grass area for relaxing, sports, and socializing. 
  • A large multi-purpose room to offer art, yoga, workshops, dodgeball, and more.

PROGRAMS

Adulting 101 - Level up your life! Because life doesn't come with instructions...Workshops are designed to prepare teens for adulthood and the workforce by teaching them the soft skills necessary to succeed. Held once a month August - May. 

AfterHours - We're open late once a month for epic activities, snacks & a safe space to hang with your crew! Held once a month year-round.

Bike To Boba - The coolest way for teens to learn bike safety while discovering awesome local boba spots! It's the perfect mix of learning, exploring, and supporting our community, one bike ride at a time. Held once a month April - October.

College Tours - Join us on a trip to a local college campus and get a firsthand look at what college life is all about. You'll have the chance to see the campus and its facilities, meet current students and faculty, earn about academic programs and financial aid options, and get a taste of campus dining. Held once a month September-November and January-March. 11th and 12th grade students only. 

Enrichment Classes - Explore Art and Cooking! Get hands-on with different art mediums, and whip up delicious dishes in our fully-equipped kitchen. These classes are a fun way to meet new people and learn new skills!  Held in three sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring.

Enrichment Trips - Mix fun and learning! Stay curious, stay entertained, and make your breaks epic! Held during select summer and school breaks.

Makerspace Workshops - Get hands-on with creativity! From crafting cool gadgets to mastering DIY projects, every session is a blend of fun and learning. Held once a month year-round.

EVENTS

Find Your Fit: Teen Career Day - Gain perspective about different industry careers and network with professionals regarding potential jobs and internships! Held yearly in March.

Friendsgiving - Gobble gobble, it’s turkey time!  A meal complete with food, friends, and fun as we celebrate all that we are grateful for. Includes meat and vegetarian options, side dishes, desserts, and warm drinks. Held yearly in November. 

Hospital Volunteer Project - Help a child patient cope in the hospital during a difficult time! Volunteer your time to make cards, sew snuggle hearts, and pack activity kits for pediatric patients at local hospitals. Earn community service hours and help spread cheer! Held yearly in July. 

Open Houses - This is your chance to check out our awesome space for teens! Tour the facility, meet the friendly staff, enjoy games and refreshments, sign up for programs, and more. Held in May and August. 

Pride Celebration - An afternoon of fun, inclusion, and celebration of pride! FREE Pride giveaways, rainbow snacks, games, crafts, and more. Held yearly in June. 

Teen Wellness Retreat - An all-inclusive, action-packed event featuring guest speakers, workshops, self-care activities, resources, and more. Leave inspired (and ready to inspire) with new and fun tools to navigate the mind, body, and spirit! Think of it as a day to reboot — thoughtful conversations, delicious food and snacks, and activities and workshops designed to de-stress, refresh, and build confidence. Held yearly in September. 9th-12th grade students only. 

Do you have a skill that teens would find intriguing?  We welcome passionate individuals to share interests like art, photography, or resume writing. Reach out via email if you'd like to host a workshop or lead an activity!

 

Daily Activities

Daily Activities are led by staff members and range from arts and crafts and sports to snack making and tournaments.

May 2024 Activity and Snack Calendar

Daily Snack is provided to all drop-in participants, served approximately 1 hour after opening. The View also has a snack bar (cash, bills lower than $10 only). The snack bar carries various items, including chips, instant noodles, Gatorade, sparking water, ice cream treats, and more. Everything is $1 or less.

Borrow professional clothing and shoes for interviews, debate tournaments, school presentations, and more! Take up to one outfit, which includes a top, blazer, pair of bottoms, shoes, and an accessory like a tie. Wear, wash, and return if you'd like to keep the community closet going!  Stop by The View Teen Center during open hours to browse and checkout. 

The closet is a collaboration between The View Teen Center and the MVLA Speech and Debate club. 

Have donations? Drop off clean items to the front desk during open hours (3:30-7 p.m. on weekdays and 1-6 p.m. on Saturdays). We accept all sizes and types of professional clothing. Email us with any questions.
