About E-Bikes

Electric bicycles, also known as “E-Bikes,” use rechargeable batteries that can travel around 15-28 miles per hour. Electric bikes pedal and handle just like a regular bicycle. The electric component is meant to assist human power, not completely replace it. It makes obstacles like hills more manageable and allows you to travel further without getting as tired. E-Bikes are divided into three classes that denote their level of motor assistance. Learn more about e-bikes from the California Air Resources Board's E-Bike Incentive Project webpage
