Rengstorff House - Photo Attribute: Ille PhotographyThe Rengstorff House, located at 3070 N. Shoreline Boulevard, is located within Shoreline at Mountain View, a 750-acre wildlife and recreation area on the edge of the San Francisco Bay.

Enter the grounds of the historic site, and you will immediately sense the unique character as well as the simple elegance of the place. Now available for rent every day of the week except during public tour hours, the facility offers classic Victorian Italianate architecture surrounded by an outdoor, garden setting. In addition, on-site is an idyllic, restored windmill and water tower structure that serves as a picturesque location for “first look” event images. Everywhere you look, it seems, photo opportunities abound!

Adjacent to the Rengstorff House is a charming lakeside area, perfect for bridal photos. In addition, the facility is located within a wildlife and recreation area, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Inside, the house features ornate brass chandeliers, Victorian plaster rosettes, push-button light switches, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper designs, as well as Eastlake furniture appropriate to the time. While the majority of your event typically occurs outdoors, guests will enjoy perusing indoors to take a brief step back in time. Our prime dates often book up to a year or more in advance.

Rental Availability and Equipment Basics

The Rengstorff House is available for rent during our non-public tour times for up to 150 guests during the peak season (April through October), or for up to 48 guests making use of the indoor space and brick patios only November through March.

All rentals must end no later than 11 p.m., for departure by midnight, and rentals are typically delivered in advance. We offer a helpful vendor list for your ease in planning.

Meeting rental is for a maximum of 18-20 guests, and includes use of the Dining Room and kitchen. We can provide a video screen, although we do ask that you bring your own audio/visual equipment.

Rental Rates

Facility rental rates are reasonable, with special meeting, nonprofit, weekday and weekend rates that are dependent upon the time of year.

** During our peak season, April through October, we welcome events up to 150 guests and provide full use of the downstairs portion of the house, and the exterior grounds.
*** Optional wedding arch is only available during the high-peak season.  

What Special Event Rental Includes

  • Use of the entire first floor, including a gracious dining room and three lovely parlors all decorated with classic period décor (i.e. standing room capacity for 48 people indoors).
  • Three (3), distinct lawn areas (2); and two, adjoining, brick patios. Our recommended capacity for both the ceremony and reception area is a maximum of 150 guests.
  • Reserved parking, with 23 dedicated spaces.
  • Overflow parking throughout Shoreline at Mountain View.
  • An elegant, white wedding arch for ceremony events.
  • A modern catering kitchen for warming as well as serving of food.
  • Designated area(s) for preparation and photography of your bridal party.
  • Approved caterer, rental, lighting, staffing and food truck vendors, as well as the option to self-cater your own event. We can also provide a local area vendors list to assist in identifying all of the perfect, little details for your wedding and/or other special event.
  • Wireless access for business and/or special event requirements.
