The City of Mountain View Visual Arts Committee was established to enrich the City spirit through public art and related community programs. The Committee is dedicated to enlightening the imagination of citizens and consists of seven members. The Community Development Department supports the Visual Arts Committee.

General functions of the Visual Arts Committee

  • Advise the City Council on the selection of art and artists for City-funded public art acquisitions
  • Recommend the use and programs supported by the City's annual Capital Improvement Program allocation for art
  • Advocate and develop programs for community involvement, information and education in public art
  • Sponsor art exhibits and shows; develop programs to expand art activities, events and exhibits in the City
  • Work with other local and regional arts organizations to facilitate public art in the region

Open Calls for Artists

Sign up and be added to our email Call for Artists List (Link).  Enter your email address via the Mountain View gov delivery webpage.  On the next page (after entering your email address) find under Under Subscription Topics> Development Plan and Project>select "Artist’s Registry"

Meetings

The Visual Arts Committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the following location:

The VAC meetings are available in hybrid format for public participation. To attend the meeting virtually, instructions are available on the posted meeting agenda. Please note, meeting dates and location are subject to change.
