City Lot 12 (Downtown)

On April 25, 2022, the Community Development Director issued a ministerial approval of a SB 35 application to redevelop a 1.56-acre city parking lot in Downtown to include a new 5-story, mixed-use building with 120 rental units (all units deed-restricted to households earning 80 percent of AMI or less), 96 parking spaces, and 3,300 square feet of community-serving commercial and public gathering space and a public midblock garden paseo on the western edge of the project site.

Eden Housing
On July 2, 2021, the Community Development Director issued a ministerial approval of a SB 35 application to redevelop a 0.96-acre site with an existing office building to include a 4-story apartment building with 100 residential units with a State Density Bonus with development waivers and the removal of 17 Heritage trees. Located on the corner of La Avenida Avenue and Armand Drive, La Avenida Apartments is a new apartment community that will enhance the North Bayshore area and advance Mountain View’s vision for a vibrant neighborhood that is affordable to all income levels. In this excellent location across the street from Microsoft’s redesigned offices, we will build an affordable multifamily residential building that will provide affordable rental apartments for individuals and families earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income.

1265 Montecito Avenue

On December 6, 2022 the City Council approved the affordable housing development project at 1265 Montecito Avenue. The project will provide 84 affordable rental units and one manager unit with at-grade parking and a State Density Bonus with development waivers on a 1.04-acre site, replacing an existing 12,300 square foot office building. The project is located on the southwest corner of North Shoreline Boulevard and Montecito Avenue in the CN (Commercial-Neighborhood) zoning district. The project has a planned mix of units restricted to families making between 25% to 60% area median income (AMI), including units available for ELI families, veterans, and rapid rehousing. On-site services and amenities will include a Community Room available to the public, gardens and common areas, resident services, private storage, bicycle parking, and a food pantry.

1020 Terra Bella Ave

Alta Housing
On April 3, 2023 the City Council approved the affordable housing development project at 1020 Terra Bella Avenue. 1020 Terra Bella is a proposed 100% affordable family-housing development project in Mountain View. With the donation of land by Public Storage, Alta Housing is seeking to create a 6-story, approximately 108-units family-housing apartment building that provides affordable housing for tenants with 30-80% of the area median income. Comprised of one, two, and three-bedroom units, Terra Bella is prepared for a number of various households to call it home. The building’s frontage along Terra Bella Avenue provides street-level entry and private stoops to six 2 and 3-bedroom units.

96 W. El Camino Real

Danco Communities
On February 14, 2023 the City Council approved funding for the affordable housing development project at 96 W. El Camino Real. Danco Communities is proposing a six-story, 79- unit development with 78 affordable units for households with incomes up to 60% of the area median income (AMI) and one manager’s unit on a 1.15-acre site. The project proposes a six-story, approximately 64’ tall apartment complex, which steps down to four stories at the north and east elevations to provide appropriate transition to adjacent residential uses. The site features robust landscaping and various on-site resident amenities.

1012 Linda Vista

Alta Housing
On February 14, 2023 the City Council approved funding for the affordable housing development project at 1012 Linda Vista. ALTA Housing is proposing a 7 story building that will include a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units, with the majority of units sized to accommodate families. The project will include high quality common areas for residents including a community room and dedicated youth room that both open to an expansive third level podium courtyard. The courtyard includes a play area for children, a dining area, and abundant landscape and seating areas. Other amenity spaces include a combined laundry with resident lounge, bicycle room, and office spaces for staff. The project will accommodate 66 parking spaces with two levels of an above-grade garage to yield a parking ratio of 0.94 space per unit.
